A Safe Place to Be Yourself, Heal, & Grow
1.
Individual Counseling
I believe individual counseling should be like a therapy buffet. You can have what you want/like/need and none of what you don’t. Together we will collaboratively come up with a counseling plan to meet your goals and help you on your journey of mental wellness. Whether you’re struggling with gender identity, sexuality, never remembering where you put your keys or struggling to focus, sensory overload, generally overwhelm because life is stressful, constantly being triggered by past trauma, wanting to certain behaviors because they don’t feel like you or you realize they are no longer helpful (i.e. putting others first, people-pleasing, overworking yourself, making yourself work to deserve a break, etc), want to work on relationship issues individually, want to better manage your emotions, or are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depressions, I will work with you to make a life that you want to wake up to everyday.
2.
Relationship & Couples Counseling
Whether you are monogamous, non-monogamous (ENM), polyamorous, in a 24/7 BDSM dynamic, married, unmarried, or some other flavor of relationship you are welcome here (assuming all parties are legally capable of and voluntarily give consent). My approach is to provide a safe environment for you to share your feelings, thoughts, desires, and needs. I will help provide you with guidance and tools to better communicate, work through conflict, feel more loved/connected, and have a healthier relationship. Couples therapy requires both parties having a strong desire to want the relationship to succeed, and be willing to work on both themselves and the relationship. Note: I am well-versed in identifying those with narcissistic behavior tendencies, while I will not go running or tell your partner what they should do, I will call you out on your behavior. If you aren’t ready for that or dedicated to doing the work, then I’m not the counselor for you.
3.
Family Counseling
Whether your family consists of a blended step-family, single parent, divorced or unmarried parents, grandparents raising grandchildren, families with adult children, or any variety of family is welcome. I will provide a safe environment for everyone to share their feelings, help facilitate healthy discussions and relationship building, and empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to establish/maintain a harmonious household outside of therapy sessions. Whether you are going to lose it the next time someone leaves a wet towel on a bed, or the children are fighting about a video game while you are trying to do a work meeting but your partner is not handling the situation as efficiently as you need them to be, I can help you learn to communicate what you from each other and how to handle the conflict without screaming.
4.
Group Therapy
When there is enough interest on a topic or enough clients that could benefit from group therapy with similar issues, I can run group sessions. If there are no current groups that are meeting your needs, feel free to request a group. I will do my best to accommodate your request or make recommendations for local groups if I am unable to accommodate your request. If you are unsure if there are any current groups, do not hesitate to ask.

About Me
Elizabeth Villella, MS, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Jacqueline Maye, MS, LPC-S, LCDC
My pronouns are she/her (cisgender woman, if that is important in your choice of counselor). I am pansexual and polyamorous, something I have accepted about myself a long time ago. It is where I got my passion for working with LGBTQIA+ and ENM/polyamorous individuals, as well as for fighting for them to have the same rights as their cisgender heterosexual monogamous counterparts (who I am also good with as long as they believe others should have the same rights). I was raised in a small town in the Hill Country a couple hours away from San Antonio. I left there to join the Army at 18, but ended up getting hurt. Eventually I ended up back in Texas, and after a couple relationships that were great learning experiences for my career, I gave up the country life to move to San Antonio to be with my current partner several years ago. We have a total of four children, ranging from age 5 to teen. If there is anything else you would like to know and it is appropriate, then feel free to ask.

My Therapeutic Approach
At Alphabet League Counseling, I believe in a client-centered approach that meets you wherever you are at in both your personal mental health journey and life circumstances. I believe counseling should be cooperative: I may have the degree and training, but you’re the expert on you, what you want, and what you need. I can’t make decisions for you, tell you what is best for you, or do the work for you but I can give you tools, skills, knowledge, and a (metaphorical, not literal) hand to hold on this journey. So you can be better prepared for whatever life throws at you and you won’t have to face it alone.
